Routing and Switching Fundamentals Part 1– CCENT is a highly advantageous course to embark upon if you are looking for a career in IT.  You will gain the essential skills of being able to plan, configure, and operate simple WAN and switched LAN networks. Complemented by the ability to successfully install, operate and troubleshoot systems within a small office network.

Session 1: Introduction, Computer Networking Concepts, Overview of OSI Model and TCP/IP, TCP/IP Transport and Applications, Modern Ethernet LANs, Ethernet Frame Structure, Conversions.

Session 2: Wide Area Networks, WAN Concepts, Transmission Protocols, WAN Configuration, Connecting to a Network, Topologies, Shared Networking.

Session 3: Communications, IP Addressing, Subnetting, Routers, IP Routing Concepts, Static IP Routing, Dynamic Routing.

Session 4: RIP Protocol, Troubleshooting RIP, Routers and IOS, IOS Access Commands, Basic IOS Commands, IOS Maintenance Commands, ID and Interface Commands, Troubleshooting IP Routing.

Session 5: LAN Devices, Ethernet Switch Configuration, Catalyst Switches, Ethernet Switch, Fundamentals of Wireless LAN, Wireless LAN Security, Wireless LAN Configurations, Network Environment Management, Network Security.

The course is designed to give you all the knowledge that you need to go on to become a Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician.

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a Pitman Training Course Completion certificate and you will be fully prepared to take the Cisco ICND1®; exam #640-822 – which will enable you to go on and take the Cisco’s certification path for Routing and Switching.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
